ok, the past two days have sucked. friday, i got all ready for work, go to leave, and find my car battery dead. look for why this is, and find my interior lights somehow got turned on thursday night. so, i call work, tell them i will be late. i then proceed to try to find the jumper cables, which, of course, i can't find, and nobody is home to lend me a pair. so, i had to call off. needless to say, the manager was NOT happy, and told me i'd probably get written up. ok, next day. i go into work, get 'talked to' by the store manager, but luckily didn't get written up. really busy day, nonstop working, even with two cashiers on half the time. (for those of you that don't know, i'm working at taco bell.) so, i'm working nonstop, either cleaning, which i got very little time to do, or taking orders. only get one fifteen minute break in an eight hour shift (ugh). maybe three quarters of the way through my shift, this lady and her husband come in and start to order. now, we are VERY busy with the dinner rush at this time, and she keeps changing the order, doesn't know how to say anything. she said she wanted an 'esparado' or something like that, and i asked her if she meant a carmel apple empenada, and she said yes, and made some comments like 'did you go to special classes to learn how to pronounce everything?' and when i told her i repeat them to make sure i have the right thing and that i pushed the right buttons, she said 'you said you've been here for several weeks, you should know what you are doing by now' the bitch. at one point i sneezed into my ELBOW because i have terrible allergies, and she said i needed to wash my hands. when i pointed out i didn't sneeze into my hands, she said that somebody else has to take her order. so i rinsed my hands off. meanwhile, the line just keeps getting longer, and i'm the only cashier working front register. when i FINALLY finish her order and get her to pay, and the food comes out, she says that the order is completely wrong! she then insists that the person who is out cleaning comes and makes her food because one of our MANAGERS, who was making her order, obviously didn't know what she was doing. after about five minutes of just standing there, insulting everybody, until her food is PERFECT, she finally leaves to eat. the entire time she was there she was rude, insulting, and condescending. oh, i so wish i was allowed to speak my mind. *sighs* i ended up getting held over after my shift, even, because the other cashier who was supposed to take over up front took his break late, and didn't get back until after i was due out, so i didn't finish counting my drawer down until maybe fifteen minutes after that. after which i still had to go shopping for my step brother's birthday card! so i didn't get home until nearly nine at night, and didn't get to eat dinner until nearly ten! gah! i hate humanity. this is kiden, the ranting dragon, signing off.
Devious Comments
check with your state laws and/or your employee handbook/guide to find out how often you get a break...
here in AZ, if I go over 6 hrs on te clock with no break, I'll be breaking the law v.v
good luck ^^
